Draper Hosts Defense Department Delegation for Space Technology

CAMBRIDGE, Mass.—Draper recently hosted officials from the Defense Department for a tour of the company’s R&D centers and a discussion of the company’s efforts to enhance the nation’s capacity for innovation, research and development of advanced systems for national security. 

Joining the visit were Dr. Bryan Dorland, Principal Director for Space Technology in the Office of the Under Secretary of Defense for Research and Engineering. Also in attendance was Jerry Krassner, Ph.D., Space Technology advisor.

Dr. Dorland underscored the value to the nation of independent nonprofit engineering organizations like Draper.

Julia MacDonough, Draper’s vice president and general manager for Space Systems, said, “We are truly honored to host Dr. Dorland and his team, and provide the latest on our programs and capabilities that support space research, space exploration and space defense.” 

Dr. Dorland visited Draper’s R&D centers and was briefed on Draper’s capabilities in space mission enabling capabilities, microelectronics solutions for space applications, space navigation and space sensing domain awareness and control.
