United Way Math, Science, and Techology Initiative (MSTi) Club
from the East End House in Cambridge Visits Draper Lab

Students and staff from the East End House enjoyed a vist to Draper Lab in April as part of the Draper's MSTi Club sponsorship at the East End House. After spending time in the AVL learning about Draper's different robotics programs with Group Leader Elliot Ranger, the students spent time experimenting with a hand-on engineering design challenge.

Troy Jones Represents the DARPA Urban Challenge Vehicle Team at
Boston US FIRST Robotics Competition.

Draper Employee Troy Jones spent two days explaining the engineering challenges behind the creation of the DARPA Urban Challenge at the Boston Regional US FIRST Robotics Competition in March 2008. Troy and the DARPA Urban Challenge vehicle was the centerpiece of a "Land, Sea & Air" display in the lobby of the Agganis Areana, where this year's Boston FIRST event was held.

US FIRST Team 97 made up of students from Cambridge Rindge & Latin High School and MIT, and which is sponsored in part by Draper Lab, placed second in the Boston Regional Competition.
